The Glass Knife | Winter Park's "It" Café

The Glass Knife | Winter Park's "It" Café

Living in a city where the restaurants are commercial, Mickey Mouse is the mafia king, and hipster restaurants mean overly priced cocktails served by men in ironic beards, its kind of hard knowing where the cool worthy places to go to are.

Luckily for my deep love for coffee shops and restaurants, I did my own research on where my friend and I should grab lunch at. After deciding what the vibe of our afternoon friend date would be,  I searched for coffee shops and came across this little gem.

Introducing...

The Glass Knife

The Glass Knife stands tall and proud off of Orlando Avenue. It’s modern architecture with contrasting black and pink colors and gold lettering convinced me enough to quickly turn left and speed walk into the entrance, I  was literally that excited.

The moment I walked inside I was greeted by the clean-cut staff and introduced to the menu. It was a long list of pastries, espresso drinks, lunch items, and cakes. As I approached the cashier I couldn’t help but notice the small section of goodies all dedicated to the theme of the café. They had a bouquet of flowers to buy, coffee table books,  and knick-knacks.

Since the café was busy and the floor plan was self-seating I told my friend my order and quickly grabbed the first available table. I ordered a tomato soup, dirty soy chai latte, and cake…lots and lots of cake.

We ordered a coconut cream cake, carrot cake, and strawberry cake and you can obviously assume it, we ate all three. I was almost afraid of not taking pictures from possibly looking bloated from all the food and sugar, but my goodness every bite was worth it.

I mean after all the food, the sugar definitely kicked in and we were comfortable enough to take obvious candid pictures of drinking our latte's and laughing incredibly hard after telling the server not to take my half-eaten cake because "uhm I'm not done with that."

With The Glass Knife only being open for the past 7 weeks and already circulating with business, it’s safe to say this café is the place to be. It is the perfect afternoon mark to come with friends, first date, or even a “treat yo self” date.

I felt completely welcomed and impressed with the wonderful hospitality, perfectly garnished desserts, and chic environment. It is a must see location that not only is Instagram picture worthy, but also quite delicious.
